THE BEST MARKET MAKERS
For investors, fair prices on the secondary market are a key feature of a «good» investment product. In the category "Leverage Products", Bank Vontobel was once again awarded first place as the best market maker. The issuer stood out due to consistent quality in the pricing of its issues in the secondary market on the SIX Structured Products Exchange. Leonteq Securities was again successful in taking first place in the category "Investment Products".
Almost exactly ten years ago, an important step towards the professionalization of the Structured Products Industry in Switzerland was instigated by a small group of banking and derivatives experts: the founding of the Swiss Structured Products Association (SVSP). Today, the SVSP holds a firm place as an established industry organization administering a plethora of tasks. In spring 2006, the organization was initiated by less than a dozen enthusiastic personalities as an ideological club. In 2016, the Special Award is given to the founding team (Roger Studer, Luigi Vignola and Eric Wasescha and others) coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the association's inception.
Judging of the issuers' service performance involved assessment of the following criteria: quality of term sheets, quality of brochures and client magazines, quality of derivatives website, quality of market making, surveys of investors and pricing. This year, the jury awarded the coveted distinction to Bank Vontobel, Leonteq Securities and Banque Cantonale Vaudoise.
Sponsored by Swiss Structured Products Association (SVSP)
The Research Award, which was presented for the first time this year, was given to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students who wrote and implemented a paper on Structured Products and Derivatives.
